A New Year’s Eve Winter Wedding at Wolcott Galleria in Casper, Wy

Winter weddings are known for the challenges they can bring. But how can you even begin to beat a New Years Eve wedding? Drew and Holly’s day was gorgeous beyond words, despite the few challenges winter threw their way. It turned out to be a calm, mild Wyoming winter day for a change, so we were able to take advantage of it by shooting some creative outdoor portraits before the winter sun slipped under the horizon as it tends to do so early. I just don’t know what is so romantic about a warm, cozy, and beautifully designed wedding in the winter, but this particular wedding was just plain magical!

It doesn’t always happen at weddings, but after the toasts I felt like I had a deeper appreciation for the bride and groom and how their story has evolved. Two of Holly’s sisters and Drew’s best man gave a clear picture of some of the wonderful memories that they share, which had me hoping they’d share more. I learned that Holly’s determination when she sets her mind to something is unmatched. Then I learned that Drew has a laidback kind of style and likes to use the phrase, “It’s only money.” Now how about that for a perfect match?

I am not sure about you, but when I am looking through other wedding blog posts, I almost always see gorgeous couples and pretty details, but I never really feel like I know much about them from the images. I am so very grateful for couples who I can call my friends and who allow me to be a part of their story. It is truly a dream job.

It was a pleasure working with the Occasions by Cory staff, as well as Summer with Consider the Lillies. Sadly this was my last wedding for a while but I will pick back up in the spring. But I do think you’ll agree with me that this was an epic way to end 2022 and start 2023! Cheers to the New Year and the newlyweds, may you be blessed with many years of good fortune and tons of noteworthy stories!
